The Brigade Executive is our Trustee Board, and has responsibility for setting the strategic objectives for the charity, for monitoring the delivery of the Strategic Plan and in ensuring there is good governance arrangements in place to comply with statutory obligations.

The Brigade Executive meets regularly throughout the year and is supported by a range of sub-committees to assist in the implementation of strategy, including Regional Committees.

How is the Brigade Executive structured?

The Trustees are all volunteers and have a responsibility to act in the best interests of the charity. They play an important part in the life of the organisation supported by the Chief Executive and members of the staff team, and are accountable to the membership through meetings of Brigade Council.

The Brigade Executive consists of up to 15 members:

  • The Brigade President (if they so choose)
  • The Brigade Chaplain
  • The Brigade Treasurer
  • A Brigade Vice-President
  • Representatives of our Regional Committees:
    • Three from Scotland, at least one of whom is a young person aged 16-25
    • Three from England & Wales, at least one of whom is a young person aged 16-25
    • One from the Republic of Ireland
  • Up to four co-opted members
