Celebrating our 140th Anniversary

The Boys’ Brigade is open to children and young people aged from 5 to 18, of any faith and background. Whilst some groups are for boys only others are open to boys and girls through membership of The Girls’ Association.

Our Age Groups

You can find out more about our age groups below:

  • Anchors for children aged 5–8 years (can be from 4 years in some groups)
  • Juniors for children aged 8–11 years
  • Company for young people aged 11–14 years
  • Seniors for young people aged 14–18

Our Leaders

Our leaders are only appointed after undertaking a safe recruitment process which includes vetting & barring checks and training, which enables us to provide a safe and caring environment for all children & young people.

Did you know? The Boys’ Brigade has been going for 140 years, and so we have a proven track record that you can trust. Millions of children and young people have been involved in The Boys’ Brigade at some point in their lives!

How do I find my local group?

The best way to get involved is to find your local group (also known as a ‘Company’) by using our ‘Find a Group’ tool, all you need is your postcode and you’ll be given a list of your nearest groups. Get in touch by completing the online contact form or just pop along on the day and time the group meets.

Should you have any questions you should first speak to your local leaders, but if you feel you would like to speak to someone else you are welcome to contact us on 0300 303 4454 or support@boys-brigade.org.uk.
