Celebrating our 140th Anniversary

We have a wide range of opportunities for young people to get outdoors and adventurous. Find out more below . . .

Upcoming Events

You can find more details of upcoming outdoor opportunities for young people as well as training for leaders here.

BB Canoe Club

The BB Canoe Club (BBCC) exists to promote paddlesport within the BB and opportunities including training courses, trips and residentials. They are available to provide advice, training and paddling opportunities for both young people and leaders.

BBCC coaches are all British Canoeing qualified and are registered BB leaders. They are spread across the country and are there to help Companies, Battalions and Districts get the best from paddlesport.

Activities include white water trips, lake paddling, canal trips and fun days. The BBCC also runs sessions at camps and events around the country and can also provide training/assessment for water-based DofE expeditions. It also holds training courses which are individually tailored to those who attend.

BB Mountaineering Club

The BB Mountaineering Club (BBMC) consists BB members across the country who are interested in mountain-based activities, including hill walking scrambling, rock climbing and abseiling, via ferrata, alpine climbing, winter mountaineering, snow and ice climbing and mountain biking.

The BBMC regularly organises day walks or weekend meets. It also holds training courses, including navigation training for young people (such as those preparing for DofE expeditions), Expedition & Outdoor Leadership training for leaders, and more.

The BBMC includes members who are qualified to lead particular activities, including the BB’s Expedition & Outdoor Leadership Certificate, accredited DofE Expedition Assessors and other nationally-recognised qualifications.
