Celebrating our 140th Anniversary

We are delighted that CashBack funding will be available in Scotland to support young people aged 10-25 years in BB Companies until 2026.

The project sees money reinvested from seized criminal assets into community projects in the most deprived communities. The aim is to support young people to access safe spaces to develop their confidence, resilience, skills and team building to divert them away from potentially criminal or anti-social behaviour.

Over the last three years CashBack has been able to support 114 projects involving 96 Companies and 13 Battalions across Scotland. Funding has been used for camp equipment, arts & crafts, sports & games equipment, weekend trips, tablets, uniforms, DofE training & expeditions, and KGVI course fees.

The Generation CashBack project is delivered by a partnership consortium made up of The Boys’ Brigade, Girlguiding, Scouts and Youth Scotland. The programme is delivered by Development Workers at each partner organisation who work with member groups in areas of deprivation through two strands of work:

Grow…

Help for new and existing Companies to grow in membership, and develop their weekly programmes which allow young people to learn, grow and discover. This support includes helping recruit and train volunteers as well as delivering new activities, alongside small scale capacity-building funding for essential resources and running costs.

Lead…

To support young people to develop new skills which improve their educational and employability options. Young people can also be supported to put these skills into practice in their communities, developing their leadership skills, and working towards Major Awards.
