The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards is a voluntary, non-competitive programme of practical, cultural and adventurous activities, designed to support the personal and social development of young people (from the start of the school year in which they turn 14, up to age 25), regardless of gender, background or ability.
It offers an individual challenge and encourages young people to undertake exciting, constructive, challenging and enjoyable activities in their free time.
All participants being registered to undertake DofE through The Boys’ Brigade must be registered BB members, through being listed on Online Brigade Manager (OBM) as a full member of the organisation, before commencing an award.

Accredited Assessors
Do you need an accredited assessor?
You can find details of accredited assessors by logging into your eDofE account and going to ‘Resources’ > ‘Assessor Directory’ in the main menu.
You can filter the list by areas covered, modes of travel that they will assess and whether they have SEND specialism. Ticking the ‘Only view assessors in my LO’ box will only show those who are currently affiliated to the BB.
Are you willing to assess for other BB Companies?
We’re always looking for Assessors to help out – if you think you might be able to do this, please ensure that you are listed in the Assessor Directory.
You can do this by logging into your eDofE account and going to ‘Training’ > ‘My Expedition Assessor Accreditation’ in the main menu. In the ‘Assessor Directory’ drop down, ensure that the option is set to ‘Yes’ and complete the questions around how far you are willing to travel and, if applicable, wild country areas that you are prepared to assess in.
eDofE account holders who are looking for an assessor will be able to contact you via an online contact form; no personal details are shared on the Assessor Directory. You can update your preferences to be added/removed at any time.
