Safeguarding (Virtual)

Start time: 18:30

This is an online event

More Info

We have developed a new and updated Safeguarding module which builds on the recently launched e-learning module. As an organisation it is essential that we support and develop leaders to enable them to carry out their roles safely and effectively. The new module forms part of YLT however we are offering this as standalone module also. We feel it is important that all leaders have access to this. To assist with the transition of the BTO network to the new LDC, BBHQ is arranging a number of virtual Safeguarding sessions which any leader can participate in.

Any leader registering for the training must already be fully registered with the Brigade and have completed both the Safeguarding and Managing Risk e-learning modules through OBM before attending the course.

Severn Challenge

All day

Location: River Severn, , ,

More Info

The Severn Challenge will take place from 9th to 16th April 2023.

It is an exciting week-long adventure down the River Severn. First held in 2015, the 144 mile (230km) route follows the historic Severn Navigation from its highest point at Pool Quay to the docks at Sharpness.

The event is run with the dual aims of being a challenging and fun event for BB members and a sponsored event to raise funds for participants’ BB Companies or other chosen charities. Charity choice is up to the participant, but support for the BB is encouraged.

Participants may join in for the whole week or just a day, but priority will be given to those paddling the whole river.

The event doesn’t happen on its own and a support crew will be needed to look after the paddlers. There are opportunities for adult staff and young leaders too. Joining for the week as a volunteer could also count as a Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award Residential.

For more information visit severnchallenge.co.uk or email join@severnchallenge.co.uk
