Celebrating our 140th Anniversary

The President’s Badge is the second highest award which can be gained by a young person in The Boys’ Brigade.

Awarded from Year 1 in the Seniors age group, it is the first of two Major Awards which can be gained in Seniors.

Requirements for the Award

To gain the award a young person has to:

NEW President’s Badge requirements, from 1st September 2021

  • Gain a Core Activity Award in the last 12 months (alternatively a young person could have completed Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to fulfil this element)
  • Complete ‘Faith Journey’ element
  • Complete 2+ Nights Away within last 24 months or 3+ Adventure Days
  • Complete 10 hours volunteering in Company/Church or complete ‘Volunteer’ Staged Award Level 3 (alternatively a young person could have completed Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to fulfil this element)
  • Complete Building your Skills Course or complete ‘Teamwork’ Staged Award Level 3
  • Be an ‘Active’ member of the Company

OLD President’s Badge Requirements, up to 31st August 2021

  • Complete a Christian faith development course
  • Have good attendance for one session
  • Be recommended by the Company Captain
  • Participate in a non-residential teamwork skills experience

and either: Route A

  • Complete at least 30 points from the Discover programme, having gained three badges in the last 12 months;
  • take part in an activity-based residential event within the BB
  • Complete 10 hours of practical service for the Brigade or church

OR: Route B

  • Gain The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
  • Young Volunteer Award

Those that have already started out on their President’s Badge can finish based on the old requirements.
