We’re excited to launch a new Fundraising Challenge for 2026, in partnership with YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity for children and young people’s mental health.
Together, we’re aiming to raise awareness, funds, and understanding around mental wellbeing, encouraging children and young people to take part in a year of fundraising, learning, and action to support YoungMinds’ vital work.
What is the Fundraising Challenge?
The Fundraising Challenge will run throughout the whole of 2026 and is an encouragement to all our groups to consider how they could raise a small amount of money to help make a BIG difference.
With 700+ Companies across the UK, we collectively have the power to raise an incredible amount of money for a worthwhile cause, whilst also equipping children & young people with a greater understanding of their own mental health & how to support others.
Why have we chosen YoungMinds?
YoungMinds is the UK’s leading charity championing the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. They provide vital support, raise awareness, and campaign for better understanding and services, ensuring every young person has somewhere to turn.
At The Boys’ Brigade, we see the challenges young people face every day. Choosing YoungMinds as our Charity of the Year reflects our shared commitment to helping young people build confidence, resilience, and hope — and to making sure no one faces their mental health struggles alone.

These are being held on the weekend of 28th February & 1st March 2026 and then later in the year on weekend of 19th to 20th September 2026, and we are inviting BB groups across the country to host their very own coffee mornings in support of YoungMinds.
It’s the perfect opportunity to bring your company, church, and community together for a great cause. You can make your event as big or as simple as you like, from bake sales to quizzes, bacon sandwiches to table top sales.
We are encouraging as many groups as possible to hold their event on The BIG Coffee Morning weekends, to create a BIG impact. However, should you not be able to do this date then just choose a date nearby, that works for you. Don’t forget, we have our free fundraising pack filled with posters, bunting, quiz sheets, and more, to support you in organising your BIG Coffee Morning.
60 Miles in June
Throughout June 2026, we’re encouraging children, young people & leaders to get outdoors and get active with 60 Miles in June.
The idea is simple: walk, run, cycle, or even paddle a total of 60 miles throughout the month. This could be as a group, or set as an individual challenge for children and young people to do at home with family and friends. It’s a great way to stay active, enjoy the outdoors, and boost your mental wellbeing, all while raising vital funds for young people’s mental health.
Resources to support this challenge, including sponsor forms, will be available nearer the time.
Hello Yellow (10th October 2026)
Let’s come together around World Mental Health day (10th October) to raise vital funds and show children and young people they’re not alone with their mental health.
This could be by having a non-uniform night, with everyone encouraged to wear yellow clothing and donate a small amount of money. As part of the session you could also run yellow themed games & activities, organise a yellow bake sale or take on some fundraising challenges. It’s a simple but powerful way to show young people that they’re not alone with their mental health.
To support you in planning for this, check out our ‘Hello Yellow’ themed programme (Autumn 2025).
Quiz Night

We know quiz nights are a popular way of bringing people together and raising lots of money.
As part of the Spring 2026 programme we have put together some resources to help you, alongside your Seniors, to deliver a successful quiz night. This will include several rounds to get you started and top tips for your Seniors to follow when organising the event.
Check out the Young Minds Quiz (Seniors) Activity available on the Programme Hub.
Don’t forget to Request your Fundraising Pack to support your Quiz Night.
Other Fundraising Event Ideas
Events can be an excellent way to raise lots of money, whilst bringing people together and doing something fun. What event(s) could you host during 2026 to help raise some money?
Examples might include:
- Bake Sale
- Car Wash
- Family Games Night
- Auction
- Summer / Christmas Fete
- Table Top Sale
Whatever fundraising activities you get up to, be sure to request your Fundraising Pack to support your event(s).
YoungMinds in our Weekly Programmes
As part of our partnership with YoungMinds, we’ve produced a series of programme activities that allow our members across different age groups to better understand mental health, build resilience, feel equipped to talk openly about their feelings and experiences, and know where to turn for help. The resources produced so far include:
- The Emotions Board Game (Anchors)
- Hello Yellow Themed Programme (Juniors)
- How to Be a Good Listener (Company)
- YoungMinds Themed Programme (Seniors)
We’ll be continuing to produce new activities throughout 2026, so make sure to keep an eye out for additional resources!
Celebrating Participation & Fundraising
All participation in our Fundraising Challenge makes a real difference, and as such it all deserves recognition and celebration. We’ve therefore created a few different ways in which you can recognise and celebrate the efforts of your members in this challenge.
Fundraising Challenge Badge
We’re excited to share that a special ‘Fundraising Challenge 2026’ badge has been created to recognise those young people and leaders who have taken part in a fundraising activity. The badge can be worn on armbands and will be available via BB Supplies from February 2026.
Fundraising Challenge Awards
We’ll be celebrating the amazing efforts of Boys’ Brigade members, leaders, and companies across the country. Our Fundraising awards will recognise the creativity, commitment, and generosity shown throughout the challenge. Categories will include:
- Most Creative Campaign
- Most Raised by an Age Group
- Most Raised by a Company
- Most Raised by an Individual
- Best Overall Campaign
Whether you’re hosting coffee mornings, taking on a challenge, or coming up with something completely unique, we want to celebrate your achievements and share your stories. Keep an eye out for more details on how to enter and nominate your group later in the year!
Fundraiser Staged Award
Use our ‘Fundraiser’ Staged Award, aimed at Company & Seniors, to help motivate and encourage your young people as they take on the challenge.
The staged award provides a structured approach for the group to follow, giving them a project to work towards, as they get involved with fundraising activities. At the end of the award, a staged award certificate or badge can be awarded, depending on the level achieved.
Juniors Project Award
The Project Award is aimed at the Juniors age group and helps to recognise children taking on a project over several weeks.
Our ‘My Fundraising Project’ activity, found on the programme hub, would be a perfect project for the Juniors to follow as they take on our Fundraising Challenge. As part of the project they could find out more about YoungMinds and then get involved with a fundraising activity.
We want to encourage as many groups as possible to get involved with our 2026 Fundraising Challenge and demonstrate the significant power for good that our members can achieve when they work together.
