The BB support its leaders so they feel confident and able to run great programmes for the young people in their care. Leaders are not expected to have all the answers from the start; instead, they are encouraged to learn, grow, and develop as part of a supportive organisation.
Training is a key part of this support. Leaders have access to practical courses, safeguarding training, and development opportunities that help them build skills, try new ideas, and understand how best to support children and young people at different stages. This helps leaders feel prepared and confident when planning and delivering activities.
Our Programme Hub provides a wide range of programme ideas and resources, giving leaders plenty of inspiration and flexibility. Whether it’s games, badge work, faith activities, or community projects, leaders can adapt programmes to suit their group while still reflecting the values of the Brigade.
Just as importantly, leaders are supported by the wider Boys’ Brigade family. Through local districts and battalions, leaders can share ideas, learn from each other, and know they are not alone. This sense of community and encouragement makes a real difference, especially for volunteers giving their time.
By supporting its leaders in practical and personal ways, the Boys’ Brigade helps them deliver programmes that are enjoyable, meaningful, and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
