Government support for young people

Wednesday 6th August 2025

The UK Government has announced today new opportunities and funding to support young people in England reconnecting with their communities.

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said: “Growing up today is hard for young people. As they navigate their way through the online world, too often they find themselves isolated at home and disconnected from their communities.”

As part of the ‘Building Creative Futures’ package that has been announced by the Government, additional funding of £7.5 million has been included for the Uniformed Youth Fund, which was launched in 2023.

The Uniformed Youth Fund is supporting greater access to uniformed youth organisations for young people across England. It will help ensure more young people can benefit from the skills, confidence, and opportunities that uniformed youth organisations provide.

The Boys’ Brigade is delighted to have secured continued funding from Uniformed Youth Fund until next year, and this will allow us to for example continue to support the growth and development of local groups through our Building Stronger campaign.
