Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Celebrations

Thursday 17th July 2025

In recent weeks BB members who have received the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award have had the opportunity to attend celebration events at Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The Gold Award is the highest level of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and sees participants aged 16-25 putting in at least 12 months of commitment across five sections (Volunteering, Physical, Skills, Expedition and Residential).

Recipients are invited to an event at one of the Royal Palaces alongside thousands of their peers to celebrate all they have achieved, with the events being hosted by HRH The Duke of Edinburgh in his role as the Award’s Patron.

The Boys’ Brigade has a long association with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, dating back to 1955 when we took part in a pilot scheme ahead of the official launch the following year, and in the present day hundreds of BB members achieve a Bronze, Silver or Gold award each year.

Congratulations to our latest group of Gold Award recipients on their wonderful achievements!
