HOPE Together
Thursday 28th April 2022The Platinum Jubilee is an incredible opportunity to celebrate our Queen’s life of faith and service. That’s why HOPE Together is so excited to be partnering with The Boys’ Brigade and Girls’ Brigade as the country marks this historic event!
We want to see a generation of young people serving others with the same commitment and faithfulness that the Queen has demonstrated across her 70 years as monarch. That’s why a bunch of brilliant organisations have put together some great resources for use with 11-14s, including those in uniformed organisations, around the theme of “On Her Majesty’s Service”
HOPE Together is also inviting young people across the country to get involved with 70 Acts of Service in their communities – to honour Her Majesty’s 70 years of sure and steadfast service. HOPE Together would love to see people serving others and making a difference in their communities, right where they are. Could your Company group gather your friends, family, and community together to make a difference in your street, village, town or city?
Beyond the Platinum Jubilee, HOPE is also passionate about young people experiencing life in all its fullness, and wants to encourage them on their faith adventures. Here are some of the ways your Company could get involved.
Get prayer walking
We are passionate about the power of prayer, and through the ‘Just Pray’ initiative HOPE is encouraging young people across the country to get out and pray for their local areas. To help with this, they’ve produced a booklet called ‘Prayer Walking Made Simple’, which is full of practical tips for people of all ages.
HOPE is also inviting people to use the OIKOS Prayer App to ‘tap to tag’ the places they’ve prayed in – to create a map of the prayers of the whole country. Perhaps young people you know might be up for a prayer adventure!
Go on a wellbeing journey
We know that the pandemic has been especially hard for young people. That’s why HOPE Together has launched ‘The Youth Wellbeing Journey’ – a series that invites young people to discover more of God’s plan for their wellbeing. Using videos hosted by young people, each episode takes a closer look at six different areas of wellbeing: physical, emotional, spiritual, relational, financial, and vocational. The series is designed to create a space for discussion and reflection and is suitable for 11-18-year-olds.
Get equipped to share faith
HOPE is committed to equipping young people to share their faith confidently with their peers. That’s why, alongside a great network of partners, Amplify: the Young Evangelists’ Academy was set up. It’s an eight month mentoring programme for 11-17-year-olds, which aims to encourage, equip and empower young people to share their faith with their friends, family and community. Any young person who is actively living out what it looks like to share Jesus with others is welcome on Amplify.
Mark’s Gospel
Finally, HOPE is always keen to encourage people to adventure through the Bible! These beautifully illustrated copies of Mark’s Gospel are designed to bring the story of Jesus’ life to young people in an eye-catching, accessible way.
Most of all, HOPE wants everyone, everywhere to know the hope and ‘life in all its fullness’ that Jesus brings.
