Global Fellowship Conference and AGM

After many months of wondering whether it would be possible to meet in person, Global Fellowship’s Triennial Conference took place in Lusaka, Uganda from 17th to 21st August. A total of 37 delegates from 12 countries were in attendance and all were made most welcome by The Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade Uganda.

The conference began with a service at Namirembe Cathedral which was addressed by His Grace The Archbishop of Uganda. Conference sessions included workshops on youth empowerment, sustainable development goals and succession planning. Delegates were also able to visit nearby Companies, have a BBQ with local young leaders, enjoy a beating retreat from 1st Mengo’s band as well as an afternoon out to Entebbe Zoo. 

At the AGM itself, The Boys’ & Girls’ Christian Brigade of Canada and the newly-formed BB Pakistan were welcomed into the fellowship. Some minor changes to the constitution were approved and an outline three-year Strategic Plan was also agreed. Outgoing Executive Committee members were thanked for their loyal service and four new trustees were elected, including Margaret Pang from BB UK & RoI.

Global Fellowship also launched a Climate Change Challenge, encouraging members to get involved by planting a tree, tidying up some land or having a car-free day.
