Safeguarding & Managing Risk (South Yorkshire)

Sheffield & District Battalion is offering the Safeguarding & Managing Risk modules of Youth Leader Training (YLT) as standalone modules.

Safeguarding builds on the e-learning module, although will revisit key areas. Ultimately this module is all about ensuring that The Boys’ Brigade is a safe space for all. It is not just about keeping children and young people safe but being a youth organisation and a charity there are a number of rules, regulations and requirements that we have to adhere to. We also work in partnership with local Churches across different denominations and as part of this you may be required to follow their policies, procedures and training as well as our own.

Managing Risk aims to enable participants to create a safe environment for children and young people and ensure that activities are organised and delivered safely.

Attendees should have completed the Safeguarding & Managing Risk e-learning modules before attending.

The course will take place as follows:

• Part 1: Tuesday 14th April 2026 – 6.30pm to 9.00pm
• Part 2: Tuesday 5th May 2026 – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
