Anchors say ‘thank you’ to our Firefighting Heroes

Across the country, Anchors have been taking on our ‘Firefighters’ themed programme, learning all about fire safety, teamwork, and the incredible work firefighters do to keep us safe.

As part of the programme, included in the Autumn 2025 planners, Anchors have been creating thoughtful ‘Thank you to our Firefighting Heroes’ gifts and cards, to say thank you to their local fire crews. These gifts have included tubs of ‘Heroes’ sweets decorated by the Anchors, as well as handmade cards, medals and messages of appreciation. These gifts have been a brilliant way for our Anchors to show their gratitude.

Some groups have even taken their thanks a step further, by visiting their local fire stations to deliver their gifts in person. These visits have allowed Anchors to meet firefighters, explore fire stations, and learn what it’s like to be part of a real firefighting team.

The ‘Firefighters’ theme has been a fantastic way for Anchors to learn about, serve, and celebrate the everyday heroes in their communities. A huge well done to all the groups who’ve taken part and a big thank you to the firefighters who’ve inspired them!
