Virtual Youth Leader Training

Youth Leader Training will enable participants to deliver the BB mission by equipping them with the skills, knowledge and attitudes to work effectively with children and young people.

The main theme of Youth Leader Training is the building and maintaining of trusting relationships with children and young people. From this basis flow the other aspects of Christian youth work; sharing faith, safe working practices, participation and empowerment and equal opportunities. There are modules covering all these issues within Youth Leader Training.

This course is being facilitated by BB Headquarters and will take place as follows:

• Thursday 7th May, 7:00pm to 8:15pm: My Role in the BB
• Thursday 7th May, 8:15pm to 9:15pm: Managing Risk
• Thursday 14th May, 6:45pm to 9:30pm: Safeguarding
• Thursday 14th May, 9:30pm to 9.45pm: Safeguarding Scottish add on
• Thursday 21st May, 7:00pm to 9:30pm: Working with Under 11s
• Thursday 21st May, 7:00pm to 9.30pm: Working with Over 11s
• Thursday 28th May, 7:00pm to 9:30pm: Programme Planning
• Thursday 4th June, 7:00pm to 7.50pm: Equal Opportunities
• Thursday 4th June, 8:00pm to 9:30pm: Sharing Faith

Participants will choose one out of the ‘Working with Under 11s’ and ‘Working with Over 11s’ modules and must complete this along with all modules to complete YLT.

A minimum of eight participants will be required for this to be a viable course.  If numbers are below this requirement, the course may be cancelled.
