Trustees’ Week 2022

Wednesday 9th November 2022

This week, 7th to 11th November, is Trustees’ Week – an annual celebration of the role of Trustees, celebrating all the hard work they do for organisations across the country.

The Boys’ Brigade’s Trustees are known as the ‘Brigade Executive’, which is made up of elected representatives from the five ‘regions’ of BB UK & RoI – England, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Find out more about our Trustees at boys-brigade.org.uk/our-trustees

Introducing Sam

Sam Templeton, a leader from 1st Largs in Ayrshire, became an Under 26 Trustee in September, attending his first meeting last month at Carronvale House. Find out a bit more about Sam below…

Why did you become a BB leader?

After being awarded the Queen’s Badge and getting so much from being a young person in the organisation I didn’t feel ready to leave, so I decided to stay on and complete KGVI Youth Leader Training and have not looked back.

What is your highlight of your time in BB so far?

Attending national events such as Cumbrae Camp and Unite is something I look forward to. It’s such a privilege getting to know so many brilliant young people from across the country while spending time outdoors having a great time.

What do you do when not at BB?

I like to keep busy either outside walking or cycling or playing badminton, although I’ve not had as much time recently having started teaching full-time in a secondary school.
