We are blessed as an organisation to have over 10,000 volunteer leaders across the country who support children and young people to learn, grow and discover.

It’s important to give thanks and celebrate the amazing work that our volunteers leaders do.

We also know that volunteer recruitment is a big challenge, and so it’s also important to highlight the variety of people that become BB leaders, and the benefits and sense of reward that come from volunteering.

The Big Help Out is a national day of volunteering taking place over the Coronation weekend, on Monday 8th May. It’s about inspiring a new generation of volunteers and is set to be one of the centrepieces of the celebrations for the Coronation. It’s a great opportunity for the BB to be seen in local communities and start conversations with potential volunteers.

We are asking for parents/carers as well as children and young people in BB groups to get involved by sharing their own messages of thanks for everything leaders do in their group and wider community.

They can write a short message, or even submit a short video message by using our online form before 24th April. We will then be sharing these messages on our website and social media from the Big Help Out on 8th May through to the end of Volunteers’ Week (1st to 7th June).
