Lord Mayor Hosts Juniors 100 Event!

Wednesday 21st June 2017

The Boys’ Brigade in Nottingham kicked off its Juniors 100 celebrations with an evening with the Lord Mayor of Nottingham Mohammed Saghir at the Council House.

Around 100 current Junior Section members from all over Nottinghamshire attended an evening on Tuesday 2nd May. During the evening they had a chance to look around the Council House and meet and speak with the Lord Mayor as well as take part in a challenge to make the a giant ‘1 0 0’ out of the young people, which is part of the Juniors 100 Challenge.

The Lord Mayor of Nottingham Mohammed Saghir said about the evening:

“It was great to meet everyone – all the parents should be so proud of such lovely young people“

Peter Buckby (11) – 37th Nottingham said

“I enjoyed going to the Council House and exploring the building. I was fascinated by the trophies and modules in the glass cabinets. The opportunity to meet the Lord Mayor was a great privilege. It was an excellent idea to celebrate the Juniors 100 in the Council House.

Kian Ellis (11) – 16th Nottingham said

“I’d never been in the Council House before. I enjoyed it. I got the chance to speak to the Lord Mayor and he asked me about my day.”

This is the first of a number of different events and activities being planned by the Battalion including supporting the adventure sleepover at Kingswood and organising a BIG 100 birthday party in September.
