Over the past few months, Juniors from across the country have been putting their teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills to the test through our ‘Get Adventurous’ Nightline activity, delivered in partnership with PGL.
Designed as a taster for the sort of activity you can experience of a PGL residential, Nightline saw children working together while blindfolded to navigate a rope-guided obstacle course packed with twists, turns and plenty of surprises along the way. From crawling under tables and climbing through hoops, to carefully stepping over obstacles and following changing rope heights, every course was unique, but each one relied on the same key skills: trust, teamwork, and communication.
It has been fantastic to see so many groups getting involved, with leaders creating brilliant and imaginative Nightline courses for their Juniors to experience. The photos submitted showed young people encouraging one another, working together and having fun, while building confidence.
As part of the activity, groups also had the opportunity to enter our PGL Weekend Residential Competition, with the chance to win a two-night residential stay for up to 12 young people and two leaders at a PGL centre of their choice, worth over £1,000.
We’re delighted to announce that the randomly selected winning group is the 1st Waterlooville. Chris Ware, the group’s Captain responded to the victory by saying:
“What a great surprise for us to be selected as winners of the Nightline competition. Our Juniors had great fun winding their way round the Church blindfolded. It was equally as fun to watch from the side how they worked out the route and how to navigate through. Although we entered you don’t necessarily expect to win!
“The opportunity to take the Juniors to an action packed, energy filled weekend at PGL is incredibly exciting and something the children will benefit from as they take part in all the adventures, memory making and friendship building these BB events provide. We can’t wait to get it in our diary and have some more nights away!”
