The Boys’ Brigade partners with YoungMinds to support young people’s mental health

Wednesday 25th February 2026

The Boys’ Brigade is delighted to have partnered with YoungMinds, the UK’s leading charity for children and young people’s mental health.

Having seen increasing mental health needs amongst our members, this partnership will help support leaders to feel more confident in recognising when a young person might be finding things difficult and offer tools to encourage open and supportive conversations.

Running until the end of 2026, the partnership will also raise money for YoungMinds through our Fundraising Challenge. This will see BB groups considering how they could raise a small amount of money to help make a BIG difference, by organising events and activities in support of YoungMinds’ mission to make sure no young person feels alone with their mental health.

The partnership comes at a time when record numbers of young people are struggling with their mental health due to pressures including poverty and inequality, social media, and academic demands, and are unable to get the support they need quickly enough.

Jonathan Eales, Chief Executive of The Boys’ Brigade, said: “Now more than ever, it’s vital that we equip children and young people with the tools and confidence to look after their mental health. Through this partnership with YoungMinds, we’re giving our leaders practical, trusted resources that can make a real difference in the lives of our members and partner Churches. We want to encourage all of our groups to get involved and help remind children and young people that they are not alone.”

Abigail Ampofo, Interim Chief Executive at YoungMinds, said: “At a time when so many young people are facing overwhelming pressures, this partnership with The Boys’ Brigade is about being there for young people and equipping trusted adults with the tools they need to provide support. By bringing together youth work and mental health support, our ambition is to make a real difference by breaking down stigma, opening vital conversations, and ensuring that more young people get the support they need to thrive.”
