Scottish Cross Country – 150 compete in the sunshine!
Monday 21st March 2016BB athletes from across Scotland competed in the annual Scottish Cross Country Championships in Alloa on Saturday (19th March).
The BB Scottish Cross-Country Championships is an integral part of the BB’s national calendar, and each year brings together young people aged between 11 and 18, from across Scotland, to compete in a series of races including a gruelling 5km challenge. Runners come from all over Scotland and represent their local BB Battalion.
Amongst former participants are Andrew Butchart and Callum Hawkins, both of whom are currently going through qualifying for 2016 Rio Olympics.
Congratulations to Iain Davies, from Stirling & District, who won the Seniors’ race and with it, his fourth individual title. Ryan Donald and Callum McCormack, both from Dundee & Angus, won the Junior and Intermediate races respectively. Trophies were presented by Keith Brown MSP, member for Clackmannanshire & Dunblane.
