Shaping the Adventure

As part of our ongoing consultation with our membership, we’re inviting children and young people to share with us their experiences and opinions from their journey so far in The Boys’ Brigade. Their views will then be used to continue to shape our priorities for the future.

What is the ‘Shaping the Adventure’ Programme?

The ‘Shaping the Adventure’ programme is a set of two activities that we are asking children and young people in all our age groups to complete. Both these activities challenge our members to think about what is important to them at BB and what their likes and dislikes are.

• Ranking My Adventure: As part of their time in The Boys’ Brigade, children and young people are entitled to a range of experiences and opportunities, including gaining awards, exploring the Bible, making friends, going on trips and much more. • My Programme Priorities: A good quality Boys’ Brigade programme is one that is varied, exciting, challenging and relevant. However most importantly a good quality programme should be youth-led. This activity challenges children and young people to share their views on a wide range of programme activities, helping to shape the future of our programme delivery.

Feeding Back your Results

We’re asking that each age group takes on these activities and then leaders feed the results back to us at HQ. Results from across the UK & RoI will then be brought together to allow the opinions of thousands of children and young people to be heard, helping to shape the future of what we do.

We also encourage leaders to take note of the feedback provided by your young people to help shape the programmes that you offer locally.

Company & Seniors Survey

We want to hear directly from Company & Seniors members to further explore their views and opinions, asking them to share their thoughts on their BB journey so far, what they have valued and what they would like to change.  

The online survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete and will provide invaluable insight which can be used to shape the work we do with these age groups. Please can we encourage you to share this survey with your young people and ask them to complete it. A QR code that can be printed to display in your meeting place can be found HERE 

To encourage young people to complete the survey, we are running a monthly prize draw during January – March. Every young person that complete the survey will automatically be entered into the prize draw. Each month we’ll randomly select three young people to receive a £50 Amazon voucher to spend.

Shaping the Adventure Rewards

To help encourage groups to pick up these activities and share their results with us at BBHQ, we’ll be running a prize draw during January – March. Any Company that submits their results will automatically be entered into the prize draw.

Each month we’ll randomly select three Companies to receive a £50 Decathlon voucher which can be used to help purchase sports & games equipment for your Company.
