1st Greenisland Company – 80 years Not Out!!!
Thursday 29th March 2018On Friday, 23rd March 2018, 1st Greenisland Boys’ Brigade Company held their 80th annual Display to a packed Knockagh Hall at Greenisland Presbyterian Church. Chief Guest on the evening was Mr Ken Jackson – a former officer in charge of the Junior Section of the company.
The boys performed a varied programme including the Anchor Boys who showed the crowd how to get ‘Fit for Life,’ the Junior Section displayed some great ‘Team Work’ and the Company Section created gymnastic Pyramids and completed an excellent Squad Drill routine. A father v son Tug of War Challenge proved popular too!
The theme for the Finale was ’80 Not Out!’ which explored the life and work of the company since its founding on the twin pillars of Religion and Discipline in 1938. Mrs Jackson presented the awards at the end of the evening.
