At the start of the 2024/25 football season, we challenged Company & Seniors across the country to put their football knowledge to the test, in our ‘Top of the League’ competition.
This saw young people sitting down to try and successfully predict how the two biggest football leagues in the UK might look by the end of the season. What will the final standings be? Will it more titles for Manchester City and Celtic, or will Arsenal, Liverpool, Rangers… or maybe even Ipswich, claim a title this year?
During September we received over 800 entries into the competition, from across 90 Companies, all aiming to have the most accurate prediction for the final league positions, in a bid to win our £50 voucher at the end of the season.
With all the predictions in, here are some of the highlights from the entries.
Each month, we’ll be providing updates on how the competition is going. At the start of each month, we’ll provide a ‘snapshot update’, showing which young people would be ‘top of the league’ if the season ended with the football teams in their current position. Of course, these points and positions will change each month as teams move up and down the league table.
Whilst the snapshot updates help to see how young people are doing, it’s only the last update at the end of the season that will determine the final standings in our competition.
Please see below for the ‘snapshot updates’ for each month throughout the season. Each month, those in the top 3 positions in both competitions will receive a certificate.
