Companies in Scotland were eager to get back to face-to-face activities after schools restarted in August. It’s been great to hear of many Companies being able to celebrate welcoming new members along.

Using the #OpenToBB materials to support visibility and the new programme resources 4th/5th Fraserburgh have made it known to their community that they’re back and have something great to offer children and young people.

The Company maintained its profile during the pandemic sharing #BBatHOME activities and then met outdoors when restrictions allowed. Now back meeting indoors the Company is continuing to find different ways to engage with other organisations.

Recently their Anchors created artwork for a local business trail, all age groups have taken part in beach and community cleans, they enjoyed a trip to a recent home game supported by Fraserburgh FC in the Community and had an outing to the Scottish Assault Course. They also hope that the STEM course that they had started in cooperation with the North East Scotland College will restart soon.

They have also shown creativity in accessing community funding such as £1,000 from the David and June Gordon Memorial Fund and £750 from the Arnold Clark Community Fund.

Company Captain Martin Dunbar says, “providing a programme of activities across the four age groups has allowed us to provide fun and exciting opportunities for children and young people to gain new skills, experiences, learning and personal discovery.”
