With over 90% of Companies in Scotland partnered with Church of Scotland congregations, current plans for re-organisation within the Church will have a significant impact on the BB in Scotland. The number of ministers will be significantly reduced and buildings will close in the years ahead. 

‘Mission’ needs to be the basis for all the decisions being made and The Boys’ Brigade has an opportunity to highlight our role as an outreach partner for congregations.

We are encouraging all Companies and Battalions in Scotland to find out more about what is happening locally and to at least begin talking between themselves and their Churches about how to adapt. There will be no ‘one size fits all’ model, but creative solutions can be developed. The Brigade will be writing to Churches to highlight the role the BB plays in mission and outreach into communities.
