King Charles III’s Coronation will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023, our first coronation in 70 years. This will be a special occasion that will bring the country together in celebration, with Boys’ Brigade groups up and down the UK having a part to play in that.
To help you to celebrate the Coronation, we’ve put together some programme resources, activities and competitions for children and young people to get involved with.

Coronation Party Themed Programme
We’ve updated our Royal Party themed programme to be themed around King Charles’ Coronation.
This card is suitable for all age groups and includes seven activities for children and young people to take on.

Competitions
We have two competitions for children and young people to get involved with as part of our Coronation celebrations.
Crown Competition: Fit For a King
Anchors and Juniors are challenged to design a crown that is ‘Fit for a King’. Crowns will be judged on their design, creativity and their ‘wow factor’.
There will be two categories to the competition – handmade crowns (i.e. Papier-mâché, craft supplies, Lego crowns etc) and crowns created using a a craft pack (i.e. Baker Ross, Hobbycraft etc).
There will be a prize for the winners in each age group. Entries are to be submitted by Sunday 14th May 2023.

Coronation Photo Competition
We want to see what you are getting up to for your celebrations of King Charles’ Coronation. With groups across the country expected to complete special activities, throw parties, design crowns, learn about the King and much more, we want to encourage groups to share photos of what they are doing.
Post your Coronation photos on social media using #BBCoronation or email them to programme@boys-brigade.org.uk to be in with a chance of winning one of our prizes. Photos should be submitted by Sunday 14th May 2023.

Coronation Badge, Gifts & Memorabilia
A small range of specially designed products have been created to provide young people and leaders with the opportunity to own a coronation keepsake that can be treasured for years to come.
Coronation Badge
A special badge has been designed to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. This can be worn by members on their armbands, acting as a great way for all our members to commemorate this important occasion. Whilst there is no specific criteria for gaining the badge, Companies may wish to use the programme resources to help members achieve it.
Badges are priced at £3.00 and can be ordered on a pre-order basis.
