Saw the Queen at close quarters at Windsor in 1994 and shook hands with her in 2000 on receiving my MBE.
i was truly impressed by her knowledge of the BB and even Sutton in Ashfield. A pleasant and charming lady.
All the qualities spoken about in the media were so correct. We had a minutes immaculate silence at parade night yesterday.
Everyone was so moved. We were so honoured to have such a patron for such a long period of time.
